CRASHES
UPDATE: Figured I'd update my post with some progress I've made. Well, it turns out the cause of my repeated crashes could actually somehow be attributed to controller input. I tried many, many things, including, but not limited to:

-Verifying integrity of game files
-Uninstalling/reinstalling the game to another drive
-Using the beta branch
-Uninstalling Xbox 360 Controller driver from Windows Device Manager, restarting the system, then letting it reinstall
-Using all sorts of USB controllers that WERE NOT Xbox 360 Controllers (and reinstalling their respective drivers--eg, SN 30 Pro+, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch Pro Controller)

The ONLY things that has seemed to prevent crashing have been:

-Using keyboard and mouse only with no external input device connected
-Going into Steam> Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings and UN-TICKING all the boxes, thus not allowing Steam to inject its own controller drivers

Did you "verify the integrity of game files" yet in local files.

Same problem, can't play with my little douter in co-op. Please help!

Same. Started happening about 5 hrs in. It will run for about 3 minutes and then Unity ♥♥♥♥♥ the bed. I have verified files, re installed, everything. Running a Ryzen 5, 1660ti, samsung nvme hard drive. UTD Windows 10 and graphics drivers.

Edit: I also looked for crash logs as per instructions given and found only the same fils as OP.

Crash files seem to be in "C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Temp\The Gentlebros Pte. Ltd_\Cat Quest II\Crashes\"

That's where my crash files are. I'm getting the same problem as you guys. Crashing just after crossing into doggo land.

Have you switch to Nvidia or Intel and close down Ryzen?

I am using Nvidia which works for this game and I no issues.
Ironside Dec 10, 2021 @ 9:31pm
No, turns out the issue was having Nicehash running at the same time, strangely enough. Not sure why that would affect it though.

I'm still dealing with this. The game really doesn't like xinput. I've resolved I'll probably just play it on KB...

I used an XB One controller with wireless dongle the whole time I played. I don't think it's xinput doing anything.

Well, for me, the game now crashes instantly on launch if I have literally ANY controller plugged in. Works fine with mouse and keyboard.

I still don't have that problem either with my XB360 controller either. I just played a few days ago getting the new armor and stuff on the level300 tower with no problem.

I usually plug in controller first before starting to play a game that is actual on because most of the times when plugging when the game is on doesn't register 100%(could cause problems with movement not working properly, the only problem I know so far when plug in when game is actual on not off).

So far, this is all that works for me:

-Using keyboard and mouse only with no external input device connected
-Going into Steam> Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings and UN-TICKING all the boxes, thus not allowing Steam to inject its own controller drivers

In my case looks like every time i plug the XBOX360 controller USB cable into the laptop it crashes immediately the game :-( Unplug it an the game will start just fine again.

For me there is no way I play that kind of games with the usual combo of keyboard and mouse. Hopefully they'll troubleshoot the issue very quickly.

Cheers,

D

Same problem here :( it crashes me all the time

I have Ryzen 7 5800X, RX 6800XT and 32GB of RAM.
I do not know why this happens, maybe it is some incompatibility with AMD?

I have disabled the radeon app control for the game, but it keeps giving the same problem, I don't know what to do anymore.

Please Help!! TT_TT
