Custom Controller Buttons
Great Game, but Is there a way to customize controller buttons? I only see the options for the keyboard. It would be a nice feature, also because I really want to switch the B and Y buttons and make the game controls as the first Cat Quest. Another time thank you for both this amazing games.

There is a reason the B and Y are swapped. Its really for the good of the overall game(because of character swapping). Just trust us on this and enjoy the game! :)

Longer detailed answer:
In our testings, we realized that the 'Swap' button has to be consistent in both gameplay and in the inventory.
Initially, the 'Swap' button was B, and then Y in the inventory(we couldn't have it as B in the inventory because that's the cancel button obviously). Because of this, alot of players were finding it confusing because they would have to adapt to a new 'Swap' button depending on the screen they were in.
To solve this, we had to make sure the button was consistent throughout. Since X and A are attack and roll respectively, we felt the best solution was to make Y the 'Swap' button and 'B' for interact.

Thanks for the answer! I trust you and I will try to adapt, there is no problem. Now I'm going to enjoy this beautiful game.

That's just too bad.. I went in the forums to check if I'm just blind. I respect the devs decision. I still think an option to change buttons would be great (not only for swap and dodge button). It won't really mess up all players since it's just your own controller layout.

Maybe if there's a plan for CQ3 a menu buttons and combat buttons can be separated.

You can change it in the controller layout. Press right mouse button on CQ2 in the library and choose controller layout and there you can change the buttons.

I was actually looking forward to play this game on the Steam Deck, but these guys couldn't even bother allowing us to change the keybinds so we don't have to roll with A and interact and dodge with B, which is stupid and counter intuitive... how hard is it to allow an option to do that?

The whole argument on "we tested it and it made more sense to us that way" is just selfish and inconsiderate. Just give people the option to use the controls they want. Even if I map the buttons myself using external options, it still makes the experience terrible because now the prompts are wrong and I can't close menus with B as supposed.

I couldn't even play more than 15 minutes of the game like this, and it just made me ask for a refund.
