Co op for those not up to date on terminology
Not everyone understands that "local co-op" means on the same computer. If you were super excited about 2 player LAN, this does not exist for CatQuest II. Wait for console version instead.

Also, local co-op here requires at least one player to be using joystick, the other can use keyboard/mouse or a joystick as well. And it's drop-in/drop-out, can be toggled when lauching the game or on the game settings anytime.

It's also good to explain that co-op experience is 100% symmetric: both players have their equipped items and spells, can interact with stuff and so on. The second player is not a sidekick by any means.

Hello!
Cat Quest II will be local/couch co-op on all platforms. This means both players will need to be on the same device to play the game. :)

Whats the reason of not making it online co-op? i`m really curious because you could sell more copies of the game. i bought it but my friend didnt, im ok with SP but he wants co-op only.

Online co-op is another beast to tame. It requires "rewriting everything from scratch" when the game isn't designed with it in mind, is prone to bugs (so requires much more time bugfixing) and so on, and I assume on different platforms it only gets worse. So it requires much more money/time invested - and often it doesn't pay itself for indies. I bet that's why.

For now, feel free to use Parsec to play it online (you only need one copy, and one of the players having a joystick, the other can play on kb/mouse if desired).

Hey, thanks for recommending us! We also wrote a very short post on the steps to getting started with Parsec and Cat Quest II - https://blog.parsecgaming.com/how-to-play-cat-quest-ii-online-multiplayer-using-parsec-ac35d9a4fd10

No online co-op these days? Just baffling. Guess my wife and I, on separate PCs will have to play single player. No we're not going to buy controllers just for this one game. What a shame.

On second thought, I'm uninstalling. She can play single player. I'm done with it.

Not sure. I know it can be janky sometimes, but I've mainly tried to play keyboard + controller on the rare chance my partner and I are on the same computer.
