Hi,

I have been playing online for many years now, and I have never had the slightest problem with them (apart from problems with non-optimized games), whatever the game, big DEVs, small DEVs, old games, new games, with different graphics engines, known games or completely unknown games.

So I'm so surprised to see so many problems reported on all the games (I'm talking about problems playing the game and not known bugs). Concerning MIST Survival, we know the "state" of development of the game at the moment but it is not the cause of all the problems either... I am therefore sending you these very useful little guides, which come in complement those posted here by the DEV or other players.

But don't forget that the more complicated you have a machine, overclocked, overloaded with "useless" or non-essential programs, integrated into Windows or third parties, the more you will have a machine that is unstable and incompatible with games, especially if they are in development and/or unstable. Yes, sometimes it is better to have the “simplest” machine possible rather than having the most efficient one possible. And remember to make backups before any major modification, in case of necessary restoration...

These guides are sometimes redundant for certain proposed solutions, but are also complementary, take the time to read them carefully and test each solution individually, without forgetting to go back if the fix was not successful, so as not to create others problems on your other games or programs.

If you don't have the time or the courage and want to create a post here is one last piece of advice : specify your profile carefully : machine and programs ( in background or not ), versions of the game installed and played, tests already done to resolve the problem, time when the game crashes, etc...

Hi,

In addition to all this, if you want to check whether your machine really works fine, i've just discovered this application, which combines a benchmark with a diagnosis of any problems.

It found 2 problems : the TRIM on my SSD was disabled and hadn't been run for a year (I don't know why... ), and the Windows swap file management was not set to automatic (I think I once turned it up for better performance, but apparently it wasn't a good idea, as I was getting bluescreens from time to time, to be sure...).

TYPICAL PROBLEMS WITH VERSION 0.6 OR HIGHER OF THE GAME :

The game has been completely reworked on a new engine version, end of 2023.

1/ If you didn't play new version 0.6.x.x before, you should know that :
- you can't use your old savegames
- you need to check whether the new minimum system requirements for the game are compatible with your PC.
- you must cleanly uninstall the game from your PC, deleting all remnants, including personal settings. ( recommended to avoid any possible conflict during play )
- check that your PC is up to date for the new UE5 engine : drivers, Windows, Direct X, MS VisualC++, NetFrameWork.
If you have after some problems again after this new installation, consult the threads pinned by the DEV or the communauty for several fixes.
For exemple this relevant fix :
- try DX11 instead of DX12 for running the game, using the method described in the dedicated pinned topic here :

2/ If you have already played the new version 0.6.x.x and are having new problems :
- check installation files on Steam
if no improvement :
- uninstall and reinstall the game
if no improvement :
- browse the threads by the Dev or the community to find a solution
if no improvement :
- describe your PC configuration, your problem in detail, when and what's happening exactly, and wait for a reply from the community or the Dev.

3/ If you want to play previous versions, they are still available in Steam game options.

Das Spiel ist scheiße, nichts funktioniert egal welche Tasten ich drücke, nichts funktioniert und man zahlt für so etwas fast 9 Euro

Die Keycard konnte ich nur in der Militärbasis am weissen Haus nutzen. Danach war sie verschwunden, also kann ich in weder im Hotel die Türen öffnen oder komme in der anderen leeren Basis nicht weiter. Die Bären muss ich im Freien zerlegen, da ich sie nicht tragen kann, es steht zwar da "grab" aber es geht nicht. Im Moment nervt es bissl, konnte schon besser spielen.

There is already a thread talking about this, have you read it ?
Reset your keys to default keys seems to fix this problem for several people, but it seems there is also a problem with animation coding relative to the keys and maybe querty/AZERTY keyboards. Just for information i use tumb mouse buttons for interactions and echap to quit, even i see ''Q'' and ''E'' written on the screen, they don't work for me. If reseting your keys does not work and if you don't have mouse with 5 buttons, try to map first and second interaction for the game with other keys, maybe you will find ones which work for you, but as i said reset the keys to default first, save, check again, quit and open the game, check, etc.

Figured it out. You have to be in default settings with "Interaction Buttons as follow.
Interaction 1 - E
Interaction 2 - F
Interaction 3 - V
Q and E cannot be hotkeyed to anything else.

Has anyone else noticed the quad bike gets very glitchy when you use it? I've had the game crash 3 times now when I try to use it, more so when I'm using the trailer with it.
