Choose player character/avatar?
I don't want to play as a male, so will you be adding a female player avatar?

would be a nice touch ..

woman make good survivors too ..

and i don't see any reason why male or female characters choice can't be instituted ..

even in early access ..

there's little if any verbal sounds that would need to be changed ..

I really like it when game devs use male and female characters to add an extra layer of game mechanics.

i.e. if you play as a male, you're (depending on size/shape etc) generally faster and can carry more weight, but you have a lower pain tolerance and aren't as stealthy.

Likewise if you play as a female, you are more stealthy and have more fortitude / damage relief, but can't carry as much and aren't as fast.

And changes to height, build and size affect these further either positively or negatively.

Also things like locking picking or crafting delicate stuff is easier for female characters, but chopping down trees is faster as bigger male characters. Stuff like that - that really add extra dimensions to character choice and physicality builds.

Games that don't take advantage of this kind of thing, I really think the game designers are missing out of a lot of interesting dynamics.

The character is neither male nor female, with just 2 arms and two legs.... :steammocking:

Having said that, I think there are far too many things to fix in the game at the moment to spend time on something you can't really see, as the game is played in 1st person. But for later, why not, but then it's the non-gendered people who will want their character...I mean it's complicated today for a Dev to satisfy everyone in this aspect.

there's only two genders historical game play has always dictated that ..

i don't confuse choosing between the two in game play as calming to be brain dead non-binary (no such thing in human anatomy) ..

and whether the dev institute it or not is totally up to him ..

many women like playing as the male because of the in game perks as op has stated ..

it's worth looking into ..

There are games i simply don't get because i can't play as a man ..
(they are very good games i just wont touch)

and i'm sure there are women who feel the same ..

Ah yes the most important thing to be added in the game right now.
The gender of who you play with.
Not the basic mechanics, story etc etc.

we are in early access so it's more of an add later ..

when we get an actual working game & menu ..

i understand we need more crucial fixings but when game is ready ..
i'm sure the dev will be adding more concept settings ..

we use to have control of mist setting and so forth ..

~so there's that

No thanks, don't like that one bit.

At some point we will be given a skill tree we can add to ..
(of which we already have hard coded in)

with that in mind the OP has a valid point ..

the women can have an advantage from start at a certain skill tree level ..

and the man at another ..

it's common sense the game would progress according to a skill tree ..

being it already has one ..

(this game should never have pvp so please don't ask for it)*
