Easy finds: Red truck at the power station, saw mill and in a gas station by the two little shops. SUV at the sawmill, and ATV down at the sawmill area in an infected barn.
SUV and Truck need the parts you mentioned (Older versions of the game needed a spark plug.)
Truck and SUV can move caravan and small trailer, but the small trailer will break with them. Once hitched you can't un-hitch it or get close to it. Small trailer works just fine with the ATV.
Parts, there are several places that parts will NORMALLY show up but it does seem to have a chance they will not show up.
Will trailers/caravans need parts? Is the caravan the equivalent of the small atv trailer for the truck/suv?
Do vehicle parts break, deteriorate or cease working, leading to one wanting to stockpile replacements?
Are vehicles/trailers etc. subject to theft / damage from the elements or zombies/bandits?
Any advantages to having 1 of each type of vehicle?
Is gasoline finite or is there a ready & plentiful or restoring source?
The wooden log cart - are those the pre-cut logs in stacks or can you cut trees down & those are the logs?
Do I need a car jack to install parts or does it have a different usage? How many carjacks are out there?
1 - Not sure if the trailers/caravans will ever need parts, but gonna say that I doubt it. That is of course except for the mods available at the trader garage.
2 - Vehicle parts don't seem to deteriorate yet and never really have in older versions of this game. Stockpile regardless cause you just never know what he could change in the future.
3 - Vehicles cannot be used or damaged by infected or bandits, but that wasn't always the case in past versions, so I expect it to be added back in at some point. The bandits could shoot your vehicle up in no time and infected could bang on it and damage it too.
4 - No real advantage to having one of each, but the SUV used to have an awesome mod attachment where you can mount a 50cal gun to the roof. I'd assume that will be reimplemented soon enough.
5 - Gas seems to be finite, but reloads every time you reload your save. Older versions of this game used to refill gas in cars every 30 days. The good part of that is that gas never seems to go down as you have the engine on. That too could change. Just hoard up what you can now.
6 - Any log should fit in the cart
7 - The carjack is to flip or move your vehicle only. It doesn't seem to work properly these days though. ALWAYS save prior to getting in vehicle. You'll thank me later.
Can Gas/Propane be bulk stored in any way beyond the gas cans/canisters or is it a danger? Are there more than 2 gas cans to find? Do I need a hose to siphon or will just the can attached be enough, similar to the gas canisters for propane? Does propane also reload like gas? Would the propane containers, if moved, reload at original point?
I would assume you need to be able to lift it to put the log on the cart? Does the log cart have a reasonable limit before it becomes a hazard to move?
Propane does reload on reloads. Not usre if you can move the tank and another will spawn on reload, but it was like that for awhile.
