Also, this is only valid if you've "set this as your Base" for your Base. If like me, your Base is White House and say you're out building a whole new Base somewhere else but haven't built anything like a lean-to that you can claim as home, then they won't attack you at all, at the new place.
A secure base is relative, the zombies used to tear down windows on the White House and climb into the house. that does not exist anymore. Zombies should also be attracted by light and noise at night. Bandits patrolling the entire streets and not just one area, so you never know where they are
I have a feeling that things are relatively benign and peaceful right now as Rati works on other things and let's players work out / report bugs. Whether or not they are fixed is a whole nother story.
Maybe he will also reintroduce the bandits as they were in .4 and before where they do wander around more and at least start walking towards your active base.
The climbing through windows thing was awesome. That was my first experience that left an impression on me a few years back. Now I have a base in the forest and the mist comes and they just stand a few hundred feet away.
I wish the dev would work on this in the next patch or so. We need to feel like there’s a threat for sure. The newer models and speed of them is nice though.
Yes, i Am on 0.6.0.2.2 and i'm really new to the game as a whole, so this is the first version I have ever played. What has prompted me to ask the community the questions I did is because I have seen on YouTube things that I have not been experiencing so it's given me a point of reference.
I spawned just outside the sawmill. My home-base is currently set as the white house and yea, I don't get bothered there what so ever. I've taken out a number of bandit camps and defeated the green toxic spewing bloater enemies at the school and the motel. Nothing is a challenge for me now, so... as much as I don't want to say this as i wish it wasn't true but nothing is a challenge any more and have little to no incentive to worry about my ammo or structural defences. I can run around at night time, in the mist, there are just no dangers. When I attack a bandit camp I need to be careful, sure, but its all over in a matter of a minute. I'm now bored :(
I really enjoyed what I have played and from what you guys have explained that its a "peaceful taste of getting used to the game". i look forward to the changes in the future. For now, there isnt anything for me to do which is a shame.
Yes, development has been a bit slow lately.
I suspect it was simply due to the switch from Unreal engine 4 to Unreal engine 5.
I think there's definitely more to come, but I think the developer has to familiarize himself with UE5 first. so just wait and see
Reporting the same as op. Purchased and Played on the 0.5 branch and did not experience this issue. 0.5 was a blast to play and I enjoyed 0.6 for a little while until I noticed this issue. Once things become "peaceful," you can literally build any cabin straight through mists/nights w/o worry. The only threats in the wild ever are bears. I haven't seen any wolfs, but I've also not crossed the tunnel, as I read somewhere that side of the map isn't finished yet. It's kinda disappointing, and I agree with op; it does make it boring after a bit.
I'll keep playing as updates roll out but I've heard this game has one developer. Assuming that's true you gotta be patient with these things. After all it's not like this game is being created by a major studio who has countless developers at their disposal.
I'm assuming issues like this will be corrected eventually, and I like where the game is headed! I look forward to future updates.
So, The Last of Us Bloaters? I mean, they made it very clear with the word "Bloat"
