car engines??

so basically ive been looking for a car engine EVERYWHERE on the map and couldnt find one. do i have to craft/buy them somewhere? not one single car had a lootable engine inside

From my travels there aren't alot out there. Across from the old mine, back a ways off the road, is a little yellow car that has one. I have seen a couple others but cant remember where.

darn ive already looked at that car and it didnt have an engine. maybe my game is just bugged

Maybe. There wasn't a transparent engine there giving you the prompt to take it? Thats what it looks like when you find one. It is transparent and you should get a prompt to remove it.

I found 5 engines so far. The one that Skeleton💀Soc13ty said is not in the yellow car. But in the white car that hit the tree next to the Water factory something.

I've found 4 in total but still after ~38 hours into 0.6.0 on Live I haven't cleared everything in Zone 0. One is in the 4-door Car in the middle of the Military Checkpoint just NE of White House. It's literally next to the Generator you have to fuel to get inside the 2 Container buildings.

The car is definitely by the water works but I could of sworn it was yellow. Doesn't really matter as its the only one sitting back there.

Another one that I haven't picked up (so 5) is at the bottom of the Mine across from the Waterworks building and it's behind a fenced section with a door that doesn't seem to work. There's also a Flamethrower on the floor. I just couldn't figure out how to get in there.

Just watched a video that showed the player putting one of the small white filing cabinets up against the fence and then jumped up on the cabinet and it put them in the locked room. Can't remember how they got out but they did.

If we could place Chairs through the mesh on the other side that'd be one way to do it. Just run 2 Chairs down there, 1 for each side.

EDIT: I wonder if the 'Suicided' to get out?

Also, there's a locked shed at the miltary camp that is by the church and flame thrower house that you can't in. But, there's a chair in there that you can sit in thru the wall. Once seated, hit space bar and when you get up you will be inside. Good loot and you can open door from inside.

Yup, knew about that trick and that building usually has the Long Bow in it.

There is also a house similar to the main white house just NW of the infected coffee shop, that has a junked brown pick up in the closed garage to the left of the house with an engine in it, don't know if it is a random drop or not.

Raid the bandit camp up the road behind the white house. About 7 or 8 Bandits. Somewhere in that house is a sledge hammer use it to break up cars. They drop random cars parts. I have 10 engines, 1 in the truck and 1 in the SUV and 8 in the garage. I have 10 batteries, If you find a yellow or green generator trailer break them a you'll get ATV tires.
