IS THIS GAME WORTH IT IN 2023?
thinking about buying the game, but before i do i need to know a few things, i already know this is a 1 man dev team, and usually for games that only have 1 dev then they end up getting neglected and updates take forever to come out and they dont give any indication if they are still working on the game or not and the players are just left in the dark wondering whats going on with the game. i need to know does this dev communicate well with the players about upcoming updates? and is the dev still working on new updates right now in 2023? the game has been out since 2018 i dont want to buy the game if its been left for dead already and not being worked on anymore. BUT if the devs are still working on the game and giving updates about when new content will be released then ill spend the money and give it a try.

The dev occasionally talks about an upcoming update but the updates are few and far between. Other than that , the dev doesnt communicate very much at all.

I bought this game in early to mid 2019 it was basically a shell the amount of development that's been made by a single person is impressive most of the games i like are in development i personally feel like im getting my money's worth especially when you consider the fact your investing in the future of a quality game and developer yes there are some times that you start to hope for an update but every time there is a major update it's like a new game so i understand the work that goes into it the one thing im hoping for is a disc version that we can play as a full offline or online playable self standing game no 3ed parties please:steamthumbsup:

I'd say the pace of the updates and amount of new content has improved in the past year. Certainly have been times that I wondered why some bug fixes, at least for the common ones, takes a back seat to adding new enemies or structures... but this is Rati's project, not mine. If you like the survival genre, exploring, and building bases, then you'll probably like Mist.

Hop over to the "News" section to see the list of previous and upcoming updates.

The Dev communicates when necessary, usually only when it directly involves what he is currently working on. This Dev prioritizes tasks to his schedule and timeline and is unconcerned with your wish list of items to be fixed or addressed. Updates are few and far between and have little bug fixes in them but create more upon release. it's a process of give and take. it takes time and money to develop a game. it is difficult to write code. This is a single person in complete control of this endeavor with occasional sub-contracted assistance from other Devs. He has a vision and goal for this game and is absolutely on track to that end. Things may not progress as fast or in the manner in which you want it to be, but the Dev is diligently, passively and methodically completing thangs at his pace. is it worth $10 bucks, yeah, it's worth it, even in it's broken and progressive state, it is worth $10 bucks.

If you are looking for a game to explore and relax, without taking the lead, then you should not hesitate. On the other hand, if you have requirements, even low requirements, or if you are looking for RP or a story, then I advise you to go your way.
This game is promising, there are a lot of great ideas and innovation, and it takes time to code, to script. unfortunately, there are a bit too many ideas, so there is new content, but the bugs persist and pile up even more.
The only two things I regret are the wall between the players and the developer, and the organization and logistics in the development, a little chaotic and without logic.
But this game is worth what it costs, clearly.

I have nearly 800 hours into this game and have had my monies worth over the years. The only frustrating part is that the dev puts up a promising upcoming update then nothing happens for months. Just keep an eye on the updates and if you see an update after this date then buy it. The next promised update looks really good and i kind of see it making the game combine the old with the new which will keep you going for a long time.

800 hours in a game he clearly enjoys. How is that a problem? I thought that’s why we were all here.

games can go downhill fast mate if the dev stops communicating with the player base and looses the passion for their game and stops working on it and the game just gets left in a broken state, this is exactly what happened to xera survival, the dev abandoned the game and no one has heard from them for months all we were told was to "be patient" season are ment to last 3 months in that game and now its been over a year and still nothing has happened, i have 2400 hours in xera and now i just dont play anymore and almost the entire playbase has left the game, xera has an average of about 50 players on the whole game now, it used to be 1000's of players back when the dev still had passion for the game but thats all gone now, thats why i was hesitant with this game because it came out in 2018 its been 5 years now so either 2 things can happen the game dies like xera and isnt worth getting now, OR the dev still has passion for the game and its still alive and worth getting now, from the replys in this thread it seems like the player base is still playing and the game is worth getting.

Save your money and wait. Three future content updates since last year with no progress in active game play. Bugs fixes from numerous years still not fixed. I haven't played since January of this year, my activity will show otherwise but that was misclicking the wrong game to play.

I play 2 other EA survival games, one which has had over 20 updates including bug fixes in 4 months. The other which has had around about a half dozen updates including bug fixes in 3 months.
