No drivable cars??

Every time I reach a red car. I can, from a distance, see it changing to a smashed car. Are there no drivable cars??

There are silver SUV's around and a red pick up truck. They both have to be fixed first before you can drive them. They require four (4) tires, one (1) battery, one (1) spark plug, one (1) engine and fuel. Fuel/petrol can be gotten from abandoned cars using the green gas can once you find one.

Yes, I know, but I cannot find them. As written: every time I approach a vehicle, that I think is drivable, it suddently changes to a smashed car. I have been searching, almost the entire map. And no drivable cars. ALL are smashed, no one able to be repaired.
They sould have a white symbol above them. But none do :(

wait, ..... what version of the game are you playing ? i was referring to .5, newest game.

I don't think this helps your specific problem, but I do know that there are times when you see a red truck from a distance but then when you approach it it turns into the SUV. This just makes me wonder if you have found yet another bug where the truck doesn't turn into an SUV, but a smashed car.

Are you playing .4 or .5?

Are you familiar enough with .5 to know 100% where all drivable vehicles are located? If so, does this happen at any of these locations?

I think it's the newest version. I played the game a year ago, and the map i very different now.
I do not know where the cars are located, but I have 3 times spotted a red pickup truck (like I drove a year ago). When I approach, the car jumps a little, turns into a different colour and lands. Not more than 50 cm into the air ( I guess).
And I have looted the small town north of spawn, clean. Gone a very long time to the west. Then south, over the bridge, to the sawmill, 3 lookout towers. And then again to the east. All larger towns. And no drivable cars

i have not heard of this particular situation nor has it happened to me, i do not think i can be of any further assistance, sorry.

You should try to check file integrity just in case.

Do you currently have a drivable vehicle?

The small town north of spawn has 2 drivable vehicles. A red truck next to the two story red building and an SUV just outside the gas station with the green mist. Do either of these vehicles show up?

No sorry. None has been drivable. Think I need to check files, and start over 😢

Taking the center of the map as a reference, if you go to the northeast you will surely find one of the red trucks in the community that is there (north of a small lagoon that has a similar shape to a square), in a kind of a wooden little parking lot with a roof. Also, in that same community you will find one or two tires, if you are lucky you can find spark plugs in the cars that are on the streets and there is a junkyard where you will find for sure an engine (it has that green mist so you have to use the gas mask or jump the fence and get out quickly). Something that I have noticed is that in the junkyard that is closest to the center of the map (which has a gasoline pump), you will surely find one or two gasoline cannisters and the gray van will randomly appear (reloading the save game or letting a day pass) right outside the entrance. In that place you will also find tires and gasoline in the cars that are inside (and other parts, randomly).

Thanks for the tips. But having searched all towns and many small and large houses, and no drivable cars. I must realize it's a bug in my game, and start over 😢

i tried last night, unsuccessfully, to make this happen. i think it's a new bug or you have corrupted game files. you have the right idea to reload the game files and start over. sorry, that sucks.

Try to verify the integrity of the game files first, in order to not to lose your progress... If nothing happens, make a copy of your save game file, do a clean install of the game and copy the file back to the save folder . If the problem still persists, there is no other option than to create a game from scratch. Hope this helps you!
