At least in reality. Fishing is broken. You shouldn't wear out your line/lure in an afternoon.
And they really aren't a good in game food source, though ironic that the opposite is true in a suvival situation.
And fish should be as good a food source as bear/wolf meat. Granted it is less weight and quantity than bear/wolf meat, but still. Two fish filets should equal a bear/wolf steak.
I also fish. Have a 16'8" aluminum with a 50hp, nothing special, but she gets me to the spots you can't reach from the bank.
Now with that out of the way, I rely SOLEY on fishing for my food source in this game and I have used the same setup for over 50 fish caught. The key is knowing exactly how to do it. You have to cast as close to shore as possible. That way you basically just yak them right out of the water in about a second with no fight.
Don't cast waaaay out there. You're gonna go through gear in no time.
Ah, but you could get into places I cannot and I've never caught anything at 30 mph 😆
I did the same thing because I noticed that the fish can be much bigger towards the middle of the lake, but I didn't build it low to the water. Instead, it's probably around 25 feet off the water level, but still the same results as far as quick reeling in is concerned. So, there is no penalty for height but there is for distance.
I love this idea :) Especially as I am building near the small lake/pond near town. Gonna try that!
There ya go...another cool idea!
