Stored loot disappearing.
Hi, has anyone else had a bug where your stored loot disappears when you continue your save? Stiff I stored in cars close by or houses has all gone. All my guns are gone. :(

where you stored things ? in a house ? if it's not in your 'base' then the containers may 'reboot' to make other things spawn inside.
Or maybe you die ? the game says if you die, your base may be "robbed" so you lost some items in your base too.

(sorry for bad english)

You cannot store anything in static cars anymore. They will disappear when you reload the save or if you go far enough away.

Then it's a bug ? I didn't know for cars, but i'm sure it do it to some house's drawers too (it happened to me once).

It could be a bug or it could be that the dev took that feature out. Only the dev know really.

I've heard some players complaining about items disappearing from pre-built storages like the green dresser, but all the vids I've watched do not have that happen to them. Could simply be another bug that only happens on occasion and is not consistent for everyone. That's the one that gets me. How can a bug happen to some saves/players but not others. Very strange.

I have things to disappear often from my lockers on my cart.

I build lockers and recycle bins all over the place. Too much loot on the ground causes me lag so I get rid of it. Lockers full of food, H2O, batteries and guns/ammo can be a lifesaver!

Yup. Having cashes around the map really help and trash cans if you reload loot.

OH i've just seen in my actual game that my crowbars desapears if not in a locker that can't be moved in the base or in my belt... never noticed it before. This bug needs to be fixed asap :/

Same ♥♥♥♥ here. Today, i had the bad idea of clicking "save" while using the cart. Last thing i remember was flying in the air with my cart, and landing near the map limit, up past the mountains lol
Never saw that cart and everything that was on it. I removed the game, duck it XD

Put lockers into a completely empty house.... I took over the one in town across from the farm on the hill and the bandit camp on the mountain to the right...
As long as there is nothing in it that respawns ... you are good.
Cars I learned the hard way...
Lost an engine, four tires, a battery and a spark plug.. when I went to get gas for it.
Learned later I couldn't use that car anyway... (this was the truck at the farm just up the road from the church in town).

Instead of storing things in a car's trunk... always drop it on the ground in front of the car or trunk or dead body.
This takes it out of harm from the loot area respawning or the body vanishing with the loot.
Just remember rain will diminish some items so those need to be put in a locker you feel safe with.

In the past I would store the car items in the trunk of the SUV we can drive, since those never spawn loot. Do items disappear in those too now?

However, since the introduction of the weight mechanic I just toss the items in a box or suitcase and carry that to the vehicle I am going to fix up.

I haven't seen any loot despawn from the trunk/ boot of the car. Only items in the dashboard drawer item do respawn if loot refresh is used.

I used to store items in trunks and hoods in .4 especially early game before I could get proper storage setup and it worked great. Now it just disappears. So DON'T do it. You'll regret it.

If I respawn, how do I know my base was raided? Does it still tell me what items I lost if I was raided??
Geauxboy Dec 15, 2023 @ 3:30am
Still no bandit raids................yet.
