Mist Survival

Good House Base location?
Are there any good houses preferably near the middle of the map where i can have npcs moving in too? So far only found that one white house by the barn next to the community.

I prefer the empty store in the community facing the cave bandits. Los of empty space, two floors, and you can build walls around and between it and other buildings. You are close to water, the barns, zombie spawn points, and the bandits, so you can farm them all.

I'm at that same white house. Using it temporarily while I gear up the 2 storey hunting cabin I built beside it. Going to have to look at building walls eventually, just got my first visit from bandits the other day. As there is a rotting fence in place already, gives you an idea of what kind of wall perimeter needs to be built.

I prefer tower bases.

I’ve been in two buildings in the community, red house and laundromat, I’ve been in the new building between the cabin spawn point and the lake. I’ve been in the green mist barn and the ranger tower closest to the cabin spawn point. All have their good points, but now I’m building from scratch on the relatively flat area between the community area and the small lake. Building four foundations in a square (each facing in a different direction) and will ring it with walls and barricades. I’ll put at least one big cabin on it and see how it goes.

If you're using empty buildings for bases, I've read that they are usually filled up with stuff when new updates come along so they may prove not to be so good in the future. Haven't been around long myself so I can't confirm this personally but I'd be wary.

I've been playing since it came out. I can confirm using empty buildings as a base is a very bad idea. Strong do not recommend, no matter how tempting they may be.

I'm in the empty General Store in one game, I built the largest cabin by the community pond in another game, and now I just started a new game with my base in the community church. I wish I could clear out the junk inside but I'll make do. I added those big gates inside as a front door, works well. I have to say I love the high ceiling and the windows in that building.

i built platforms to cover the entire inside from front to back and side to side, then a second half level (upstairs) in my first .5 update build, it was awesome, i miss that one.

I thought of trying that. Did you go just under the windows? I don't want to block the windows.

i went just above the pews, they were the thing i was most concerned with. the second level was up at the front one platform out from the two closets above the pulpit area. i put my bedroom up there
