What does the drying rack do?

I Built a drying rack, which i assumed was for food (based off the fact that the tanning rack is for leather), but i can't put anything in it.

you have to use the salt to cure the meat then hang it on the rack

You can also hang bear guts on it. Once dried they can be used to build the bow.

yep , need the bear guts for the bow, do it early, takes forever to dry and u just need salt = zombie and bandits and a spawn point for bears and u got all the food u need, just need to do water, prob will change later as its not balanced, no need for a fridge if u dry meat
