The game is hard starting out but becomes easy once you get more familiar with the core mechanics. It is in early access though and just released a little less than a month ago which means that there's not a lot of content yet or balancing and there's a handful of bugs. The dev however, is very active with quick fixes, patches, and updates and also with communicating with the community.
What i can suggest is go watch a few gameplay videos on youtube as well as read game reviews before deciding. :)
As active and involved as the Dev(s) are I only expect things to keep on improving.
I've spent 68 hours playing and think it's great. In my opinion, the game is a good blend of elements found in the following games:
The Long Dark
The Forest
Subsistence
7D2D
Hold Your Own (but even only a couple of weeks in EA - Mist Survival is way better IMHO)
If you've played and enjoy any of the above - then I'd suggest this is certainly worth buying at the current asking price.
As Migpunn said, check out some youtube videos. I personally like the ones GameEdged has done. I think they reflect the game as it currently stands very well.
And there is still more to come but it's just 1 person making the game so development could be slow. Just an FYI because on other early access games slow development is a common complaint after a while.
I dont think you'll regret it. I'm amazed at the low asking price as I think the dev could easily charge more even at this early stage of the game's development.
EDIT - Something I forgot to mention is just how friendly and helpful the people that post in this game's forum are. Another big plus for the game IMHO.
