how to update

So i dont think steam is keeping my game up to date. How do i update it my self with out steam.
And can i download a copy from some were else.

Steam games are generally distributed only through.. well. Steam. Even if you bought the key from , say, GMG. Still a Steam Game. That said....

if you right-click the game in your list, go down to Properties. Should be a tab called Updates and an option within of "Always keep this game up to date". Next time you run it, if there's an update, it'll force the download to bring it current.

easy a doubleclick on Gametitle in your Bibliothek should automatically update your Game

I did all of that last time, and it is still on those settings, but I'm still sitting on 6.1.2.

sounds like my nightmare. Many un-install and re-install. Go to Library. on the left hand side, right click on mist survival, Properties, Beta and select none. then re-install. I also had to re-install Unreal Engine and I think visual c++. Only took 9 hours for me get the download/update right.

The new patch this morning automatically processed for me so it seems to have worked.

I don't understand what you mean by resinstalling UE, UE is a software/application ( don't really know good translation ). Never heard this for a game and never Rati said that...
An for VisualC++, i explain there a new version needed by the update, so it's 100% normal.

That not explain what you mean by reinstall UE...
And i didn't saw "Go to Library. on the left hand side, right click on mist survival, Properties, Beta and select none.", so don't understand in other post that you don't know this function.
( 'cause for Steam this way for 0.4 or 0.5 versions are beta way too )
