Just make sure when you dry the skins and gut for the bow and quiver you grab the visible ones off the rack, press"E" on them, dont open the inventory of it and try to take them that way, they will disappear. Good luck and happy hunting.
P.S> if you can't find much ammo, turn down the foliage setting to low and its alot easier to find stuff on the ground.
As for arrows, well, it's kinda tricky. So there's the bow, quiver, and arrows. You will need a lot of mats, some craftable items for processing and good timing to craft it. Before you can craft any of the three, you'll need to have a few key craftables ready such as a workbench (preferablly a tier 2 for making the advanced versions), a drying and tanning rack, and a blacksmith place. You'll also need to kill a bear and harvest some bear hide and bear guts which spoil over time. I can list down some of the stuff you need that are hard to get/process for each item.
Quiver (tactical):
-Leather (made from bear hide, harvested from a dead bear - need a drying rack or tanning rack to dry it)
Arrows (hunting):
-Arrowhead (made from metal ingots - metal scraps - need a blacksmith place)
-Feathers (lootable from the ground or from harvesting trapped chicken)
Bow (longbow):
-Dried Animal Guts ( harvested from a dead bear - need a drying rack)
You'll be needing a lot more items to craft those 3 things but most of them you just have to find and stack a lot of (such as leaves and tree barks).
When you finally craft all 3, you will have to first equip the quiver in the equipment tab - right click on it - click 'add arrows' - drag arrows to quiver inventory slots. The bow you just have to drag to your hotbar. If you crafted the tier 3 quiver (tactical quiver), you will have 3 inventory slots for arrows ( 3 x stacks of 8) which you can cycle through by pressing R while the bow is equipped.
Sorry for the long post and goodluck crafting your own set!
The thing that's holding me back at the moment is a lack of respawning loot (I read in the forums). I can't imagine just running out of X with no way to get more X other than restarting/cheating, neither of wish I would want forced on me.
