How to butcher bear?

I have a knife but the butcher option is still not available

Choose a part of the bear to butcher. Head, body, or feet.

You need to have the right tool. Choose the tool, select the part of the bear then the button becomes active. Knife seems to be the best option.

hey Geothai you also have the option to choice click what to butch (4 option if i remember right), try that and see if you can butch it . If not its just a bug,restart and try again.

Just butchered my first bear......The SAW worked.

thanks Glenn, I tried this also, I have the knife, saw and axe, I selected any of the 4 parts and I tried by carrying or not the tools. I restarted the game also. Maybe I have to reinstall or wait for the next update.

Oh and I killed 3 bears, all the same

Sounds obvious but just in case as we all miss things sometime :

did you select the type of element (meat, pelt ....) you want to harvest and used the arrow below to indicate how much of it you want (1, 2 more when possible);if you just select the element without indicating any number I don't think the harvest button is enabled.

yeah, you'd run in the infinite negative bear harvest time loop .... nobody found the exit yet except thru death :)

If your arrows to select quantity are unresponsive, it is likely a glitch with the resolution you are using. I had selected 3840x2160, but when I went back to look at it, the resolution was blank. I had to go into the user configs, where it was actually set to something totally odd like 1980x1100, which throws off the calibration for selecting the arrows.
