How to use the water bucket?

How do you fill the water bucket so you can water the plants?

you need a watering can that be crafted then fill it & equip it in hand and left click to pour water.
as of now, the only way i know of to fill the watering can is in the lakes and having it in your hands and left click water to scoup some up.. guess the dev didnt add a way to fill it from the water storage barels yet.

You do not need a watering can, buckets work.

Make three buckets then build a water container next to your plot. Then fill the butt with water from the lake.

Make sure you have a bucket in slots 1,2 and 3 when you go to the lake. Then you can fill all three and return to fill the water container. It takes 100 litres.

You can use the water container to water your plants using the buckets.
