Mist Survival

Sulphur & Saltpeter
With the recent updates and the mines being closed off, how are you supposed to get the materials to make gunpowder?

I've sat outside the mine tunnels and harvested the ore nodes that have spawned there after reloading the save multiple times, but I haven't had any other ore nodes spawn yet.

The new "old mine" has sulphur and salt peter, often at in the main part of the mine and more often where the beserker is. Killing or better yet, fencing in the berserker can make getting the nodes here easier.

We have 2 different mines in the game now, one by power lines near red barn which has just metals and the other one past the sniper in oil rig way down the road that has all nodes in it, with chance of infected and Beserker. Like Angel said fencing the beserker in will let you mine without worrying about him.

An addition to the above comments, which are very helpful: Just be careful as infected will spawn inside the new "Old mine" after you leave and/or if you save/reload just outside. So you can not farm mining materials the way we used to in the original mine. I do not know the boundary of this area where you can save/reload to safely farm ores. Perhaps someone else has figured out the boundary.

Anywhere away from the mine in my experience sir. I would guess about 100 meters away or so.

AnAngelOfDeath, How dare you call me sir LOL. In all seriousness, is there a way to measure length of travel in-game? I'm not being a smart ass, I am just unaware of any way that will show this without any side apps, cheat engine, etc.

I read somewhere - I cannot vouch for the accuracy - that the infected have a 50 M range to you when spawning. Hence my 100 M guess that one would be safe creating a save point away from the mine and not having infected spawn in the mine.

No, I just guess distance, trucks gotta be 3 M long I figure, extrapolate from there.

My apologies for the sir :)

Hey guys i found a glitch in the new mine where the beserker doesnt spawn in & you can safely fence the area off for next time you go in properly. For more detail check out my youtube vid here: https://youtu.be/CNV0LwXG3C0
The glitch details starts at around 21 minutes & is useful for people who would rather fence the area off first. I expect this will be patched soon so hurry guys!
Please consider leaving a like & sub to my channel (I am new to youtube) - thanks!
