I no longer see "coming soon" written on the Steam page, can you tell me if the game will be cancelled?

When I searched it seemed pretty unfounded since I didn't see any post from any of the devs nor playism representatives, but dunno what Sophiamunda meant.

If you ask the devs they will tell you “no”, and I think they said they didn’t want to share anything until they could say for sure when it was coming.

In the mean time, I think they’ve done more than one side project w/ the characters (Va-11 Hall-A Kids, Saphic ♥♥♥♥♥ Rhapsody, maybe more???). They’ve also inspired more than one imitator (Coffee Talk 1&2, Tavern Talk). If you’re getting impatient, try and make due w/ those.

For now though, it seems like there’s nothing to do but hope and wait.

Just wanted to follow-up w/ a link to their https://sukebangames.itch.io/ page for anyone interested in those side projects (Kids, SPR).

And for anyone who says the project is dead forever b/c the writer is struggling, SPR came out less than a year ago and was written by the same guy.

I don't know if you realise it, "but just saying "factually not true" doesnt make you sound as smart as I feel you think it does, true, technically its not cancelled, but at this point its on a permanent hiatus, it might as well be canceled at this time. It might change in the future but no one can say for sure, so for all intents and purposes, its canceled.

People type that it's a permanently cancelled project, one of the devs comes on to say it isnt with a minor update about it's progress and that it's still in development.

People aren't happy, still type that it's permanently cancelled.

If you're going to not accept that it's in development and that it will take a very long time to do so from one of the devs, which has been explained multiple times by them in the past years, then why are you even here complaining about it then? It seems like wasted energy, you're going to double down that its cancelled anyway so why are you even here to begin with.

You didn't pay for anything, they didn't make false promises, they have been transparent enough to give you an understanding that it will be very long before this game is available but that it is still in progress.

At that point in time, anything extra is on you and your unnecessary emotional interest into it.

They understand the risks of losing potential revenue from the game being in development for too long, this is common sense from a game developer standpoint who is building a product. That's on them, not you. Let them deal with that.

Just move on or wait for the game, there's no need to get anymore invested into it after those 2 choices. It's simple really.

It would be easier to understand why the game is taking so long to come out if the game wasn't a glorified Visual Novel with minor gameplay elements. N1RV Ann-A was announced back in 2018, and we're about to enter 2024 with basically nothing being shown outside of a very short demo that isn't even available to the public. Other VNs like Nekopara don't take this long to produce a new entry (well aside from Nekopara After but to be honest I don't think anyone actually knows what's going on with that). Hell even DDLC got a complete overhaul with new content built from the ground up on a new engine in less time than N1RV Ann-A has been in production. There's no excuse for how long this is taking. I want it to come out as much as the next guy, but you've got to draw the line somewhere and start asking questions, because at this rate a new big TF2 update will come out before this game does, and that's both depressing and hilarious to consider.

How is anyone in this thread being impatient? This isn't some massive AAA title, it's a visual novel that was announced almost 6 years ago, it should've been out long ago. The fact that all we have after all this time is a Demo that isn't even available to the public is baffling to say the least. There isn't even a rough estimate of when the game will come out on the store page like "Before 2025" or "When it's done" at the least. There's just nothing.
