Segregation Is My Passion - Ugh!!
To say that I am fed up at this point would be *highly* understating how I actually feel. Is this achievement actually achievable?? The first time that I played the game, I was about 95% sure that I had separated everything correctly. However, I could see that I might have made an error, so I played the game through a second time. This time around, I paid close attention and know that everything went into the right spot. Still no achievement. So, I played it a third time. However, I had found out about the model train, so I made sure that it was running before starting any station. I still didn't get the achievement after finishing the game. I was pretty fed up, so I just left the game for a few months. I last week to pull the game up again and play in "free play" mode (or however it is worded in this game). However, I had recently had to reinstall Windows, so when I went to play again, I discovered that there is no option for Steam cloud saving, so I had no game. I was upset for a moment, but then decided to try for the achievement again. I played through the game *again* making sure all trash went into the correct bin, yet still no luck. So, I decided to try it one more time. About half way through, though, some trash bounced out of the bin into the bin next to it. I just quit the game at that point and started the *whole* game over. I have now just almost finished playing it through for the last time. I only have one station left and it doesn't have any trash to pick up in it, so doing that last station won't make a difference at this point. I can tell you that I paid *VERY* close attention to the game this last time around and everything went into the correct spot. Every station was completed to 100% except for the last station (which, again, has no trash to pick up). Whenever I opened the game or started a new station (even if I had just finished one and was just continuing playing without stopping the game), I would go and reset the model train and start it running again. I did this to make sure that it hadn't stopped running so keep the achievement from happening. I still do not have this achievement. I cannot see myself trying this again. I can hardly get through Farmley, I think it is. I'm talking about the station where you have to clean all the graffiti and then take down the scaffolding as well as repairing the clock and then turning it over to the museum. That station lags and jumps the whole time (and every time) I play it. It triggers headache and makes me very sick to my stomach the whole time I'm at that station. I don't think that I can go through that again. Is there no way to get this achievement? I've seen some guides on how to change the values in the game files, but that seems like cheating to me and not something I've wanted to do. However, when you *know* that you've completed certain tasks (multiple times) and the game doesn't recognize it, I can understand why people would change the game files. I still don't want to do this, but I feel like I am at my wit's ends. Seriously, is there a way to get this achievement???

There's a thread on this forum which discusses the second segregation achievement – the one for 400 items. Just search for 'segregation'. We decided it was broken and there has been no update since then. I made a playthrough while counting the items I segregated up to 400. If the achievement was working, and you segregated carefully, you would get this achievement long before the last station.

I think the "GET OVER HERE' achievement is broken too, but I don't think we've discussed it.

Thanks for the reply, PeskyTheTroll. I had searched the board and found that thread before posting. I honestly didn't read every post in it, but saw enough to see that nothing has improved. The answers are all the same as they were a year ago. Maybe I should have just added to the discussion there. I was so frustrated at the time, though, I thought maybe seeing a new discussion on here would remind them that there is still an issue going on. The first time that I played, only a couple of achievements popped up. However, when I played again using the model train work around, all but this one popped up. One shouldn't have to do a work around, though, for that or, if running the train is a requirement to get the achievements, then it should be mentioned somewhere in the game to let players know. After your comment, I went back and searched the forum again. The same thread came up and I read it more this time around, but it was really just what I thought I saw earlier. I did see, though, that the Devs seem to be OK with editing the save files. And, I saw them say that not enough players sent in certain files for them to look at. I did send mine in probably a year ago, but they said the file was blank. That ended up being a waste of time and, certainly, no help to them or me.

Thanks again for the reply.....and for listening to me vent a bit.

The Get over Here achievement works as you head away from the station.. (It tells you to turn back) just ignore it and carry on.

It took two play-throughs for me to get the segregation achievement. I was putting all items in... (i.e. not breaking down tyres and boxes first). Popped up around about level 11 (ski facility).

the first segregation achievement (I think it is 200 items) popped up in the first play through, so it kind of made sense.

While playing the first station of the German DLC, this achievement showed up for me.

Good! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it will trigger it for me as well. I'm hoping to get the DLC in the next couple of days. I'm anxious to give it a try.

Hi, if you still have problems with these two achievements, you can try to manage it this way:
Play with the model train, save the game, restart the game, load it, go into the tutorial and play through it. The achievements do sometimes pop out after doing so.

Hope you have fun anyway ;) We are trying to fix as many problems as possible and appreciate that you are reporting them.

For me, "Segregation is My Passion" was the only achievement that wouldn't pop up for me in the base game despite knowing that I had segregated properly. I played it three times and the last two times I paid special attention to the trash as I was trying to get that one last achievement. Fortunately, it popped up when I finished the first station of the DLC and I didn't have to run the model train this time around. Yay! Thanks for working/fixing this.

I am coming to the conclusion that there is not enough separation trash in the main game to win this achievement. I think the difference is very low, but you need one of the DLC stations to get enough pieces.

You may very well be right about this.
