How do you use the model trains?

I go into the room to the right and I walk around everywhere but can’t seem to find a trigger, there’s a green arrow over a building but no matter what I press nothing seems to trigger it

One of the buildings should have a recycling arrow pointing to it. If you click the building (not the arrow) you should a train display. Drag to assemble your train.

I walk to it and no matter what I press it doesn't trigger anything or give me any options to do something

oh wait I manage to fix it I had to start a new game a few times until it let me do something

Okay so i am having the same issue. I looked very thoroughly at every building in the train model room, and nothing. i get options for a flying camera, increase or decrease speeds but nothing as far as building the model train goes. I really do not want to have to create a new game just to get this given how many hours I've put into my main one. is there any logs or data i can send to help figure out what is going on? I am rather sad that this cant be reached by the tab button to bring up a menu when you are in the model room, would be so much easier.

The building on the model that you want is shown at the 1 minute mark in the video. It looks like a green-roofed mansion, with a double-block to its left and a corn field on its right. I think in the current version of the game you'll see a bobbing 'recycle' icon pointing at this model station.

For the past few versions of the game the process of setting up trains has always worked for me. However, my trains still derail themselves at certain points on the track, even if my 'train' is just an engine.
