Is it worth it?

the game is on special offer at 17 bucks, it looks incredible but I understand that the dev isn't there anymore so I don't know if it's worth the money

I'd say it is, even if there probably won't be more updates. There's just nothing quite like it. The way it crafts a narrative out of separate events/stories has me on the edge of my seat every time I play it.

There's quite a bit of replayability too. Every scenario has at least 2 different endings to discover. I'm sure it'll still get old after a while, but that's just the nature of these games.

It's definitely worth it, even in its current state. I'm annoyed the dev dipped out too, but what's here is very good regardless.

It's worth it even at full price. However, the game does have a bit of a learning curve and quite honestly... the ui can be frustratingly unintuitive. If you can get past that though it's great. Just don't go in on the harder difficulties expecting to win every time. Sometimes the rng just rails you.

Regarding the absent dev; the one particularly annoying thing resulting from the game being unfinished is that there are (key) items in the game, which serve no purpose other than taking up inventory space. You can either google every item for which you can't find any use, risking potential spoilers, or go insane trying to figure them out. Absolutely unacceptable for the 1.0 build of a game in my opinion, but if you are able to overlook that, it's a good experience and there is more than enough content for the price.

This isn't a live service game. The development being "dead" doesn't prevent the game from being as enjoyable as it always has.
