Was there a lawsuit with Junji Ito?
One of the reviews mentioned that there was a lawsuit with Junji Ito or his publishers that forced the dev to remove any reference to his works. I tried looking it up but couldn't find anything about it. Is this legit?

First I've heard of this but I'm curious now. Junji Ito's work is distinct and lots of people take inspiration from it. Nothing in the game came off as more then mere refrence which falls under fair use and seems way too minor to have a serious consideration as copyright infringement. That said Publishers can also be extremely petty and stupid so who knows.

Merku managed to solve the case of the missing game developer, but that's not the only mystery plaguing this town...

You must continue your investigation.

Yeah, I haven't heard much about the supposed lawsuit or issue myself. I also haven't played a whole lot in the past to notice any aesthetic changes. It all sounds like a stretch

There wasn't a lawsuit.
You see, in the ancient days (Like 2018 or even before), before the game came out on Steam (Apparently only one of the Discord moderators has copies of those builds), one of the Old Gods was "Uzumaki, the never-ending spiral", which later got removed before release due to potential copyright issues.

Ahh, I see. I didn't know that. I just heard that there was a lawsuit and couldn't find anything about it. Thanks for clearing it up

The very old version demo (which had Uzumaki and a video by Kotaku) was pretty much when WOH was basically an Ito's fan game. Hopefully we can have it once this game reaches full release.

Heard the dev had a talk with the license holder, but like I said before needs to focus on the early access for that full release. The one thing we have now is the book the students are reading.

The manga artist/writer event no longer looks like Junji Ito so I am a little curious
