This one in particular seems like it would be the easiest to fit into the structure of WoH imo.
Is there one then? I have yet to beat any run so far.
Oh yes there are many in my opinion: The whispering woman, Miss disection, Hanging Blimp. Army of One. The Thing That Drifted Ashore. The Human Chair. The tunnel... Just from the top of my head.
Some of these would make into perfect monsters, some into very cool events, some could be turned into full misteries.
Given the episodic format of the game and the book, you could actually translate Uzumaki to the game much better than Remina. Plus, is a much better book that fits more the tone of the game. I know Uzamaki is already referenced a lot in game, but still.
I think that Remina could be used for an ancient God, but is also kind of there already. In my opinion, with Gyo, Remina is actually the Junji Ito story that fits the structure of the game less. Even Black Paradox or Tommie could be used to make a mystery in a much straightforward way than Remina IMHO.
...
I'm starting to realize how many Junji Ito comics I have...
Anyway, the game can certainly do no wrong with more variety and more Junji Ito would be welcome.
The mysteries should be much smaller in scale so that they can serve as build up to the finale (which I do feel needs a rework) so stories like Tommie, the Licking Woman, Army of One, and the various Melting stories could all work really well in this regard (among others) due to them being more immediately a threat to a local area rather than them being global threats to the whole of mankind.
Oh, in that case, that's already in the game.
So I've gathered however I have yet to finish a run unfortunately. I've only made it to the lighthouse once whereas normally I get killed in the fourth mystery. Not sure what I am doing wrong I run extracurricular activities and prioritize strength and try to get a matching weapon and I even run from fights sometimes but I still can't really get past the third or fourth mystery and if I do I am so horribly weak that I get killed almost instantly. Which is what happened to me when I got to the lighthouse lol
Yea that's the conclusion we came to, I hadn't encountered that one so I didn't know that it was in the game!
