I THINK you can only discover one random ritual per game...

...And they only work on Ghosts...

Story Time:

I ended up on a losing run so I used it as an opportunity to play with the Clap/Bow ritual mechanic, but I'm still not entirely sure how it works, this is my best guess.

In a previous battle with a ghost, I discovered a ritual combo. In my losing battle, I tried to use the same combo I learned but it failed because it only worked on ghosts (apparently). I tried searching for a new combo to use against my non-ghost enemy but it proved to be incredibly difficult to find a new combo.

Every pattern and confirmation of correct moves seemed to be pointing me toward the ritual I uncovered for the Ghost I defeated.

So, this leads me to believe that there is only one usable ritual per game. Is this true?

Also, do rituals only work on ghosts? I haven't tried enough to prove this, but it would seem to make sense since when you're battling a ghost all corporeal attacks are invalid and the game focuses you on spiritual attacks.

Can anyone confirm or deny? I don't see any other information on this.

Yes. There is one ritual order per run, and it only affects ghosts.

the ritual system seems to be broken to me, so it gives hints on how ur ritual actions are correct or now, on my first run with the ghost, I did C(clap) C C C C and it tells me 3 correct, then I do CCBBC and it still tells me three correct. This.. is mathematically impossible.. It's my first game and it's my first ghost... I'm quite disappointed...

How is that impossible? You replaced a correct one with an incorrect one and an incorrect one with a correct one.

It's possible if the solution is CBCBC or CCBCB (where you need to swap a C and B for the right answer).

This is entirely it. Only one "right" pattern for your entire run and character life, and ONLY on Ghosts. The ritual will never affect non-ghost enemies and there's no secondary "non-ghost" ritual answer.
