Weird Issue with Scissor Woman Ritual

Has anyone else had it so that the sigil in the book cannot be replicated on the chalkboard at all? Mine was an upside down triangle along the bottom half of the circle, then the star for the other symbol. However no matter how many times I cycled through the first selection to get that specific triangle, it never existed, only a triangle that took up the whole sigil instead of the bottom half. I assumed the game was just screwing with my and the journal was somewhat wrong so i took the upside-down triangle I could and the ritual failed. Is the ritual supposed to always fail or something?

Absolutely not. What would be even the point.

That never happened to me unless i wanted to fail on purpose because i needed the other ending or because i didn't really care since i was going to 1 shot everything anyway and i already had the A ending.

The only issue i had was in the demo where i did the correct ritual but it did failed anyway. It happened only one time out of the 4 i played it.

The sigil in the diary is always a rough approximation. The proportion is not as important as the specific shapes.

Well that's weird, shouldn't it have worked since i matched the upside-down triangle and star then?

yeah it's a little different but it is understandable. In the demo i was sure i did it right but still wouldn't work but as i said never happened in the normal game.

Alright i drew a really quick doodle of the two sigils i ended up with. Red is what was in the diary, black was what i chose. The only other triangle option was facing up so if that was the answer then this puzzle can get pretty silly. https://gyazo.com/407fc3722d11c24cdd497e19f3363700

First of all you could forget to get holy candles, and straight start ritualizing
Second, you are fighting scissor woman whenever you did ritual right or not, it's just a bit easier if you did it right, but you get no scissors of your own as a result

I had the candles and everything, so maybe it was actually a bug?

I've had a similar issue with the same triangle but in my case everything worked fine even though it didn't match the drawing the the journal a 100%. So, yeah it seems like some kind of bug but what caused it is curious.

I was kinda hoping for an actual screenshot, since some of the icons can appear similar to one another

Regardless, I never had this happen myself: If I wanna do the ritual, it works every time for me, but if you feel it was a bug you can always submit it

Hmm..maybe in the demo. I tried several time to do the ritual with no candles just because i just want to end that event quickly as possible so avoiding some exploration seems to be a good idea to speed things up. However i never could do it. It said the ritual is not ready you missing the candles or the chalk. I'm gonna try it again but i smashed the ritual button for fun just yesterday and couldn't proceed with the S.lady encounter

it's just a little wonky in the book, keep changing options 1 and 2 for drawing the sigil until it resembles the one in the book and you'll get it matched in no time. it doesn't have to be a picture perfect match to the book, just the same shapes and lines in the appropriate positions
