What Junji Ito's work do you suggest?
Hi, I've never read any Junji Ito's manga but I'd like to take a look at his work. Do you have any suggestion? What are his best work?

Thank you very much for the help.

The Enigma of Amigara Fault is IMO fairly iconic.

Read the ones that came in big tankobons; Tomie, Uzumaki and Gyo.

Gyo is a bit cheesy, though.

Uzumaki is a great start, it's sometimes creepy, sometimes weird, sometimes just absurd and funny (hair fights?). Tomie can be a bit repetative, Gyo is super cheesy monster story. As a fan I like all of them, but it's a special taste.

His short work is fantastic too, I think it's also collected in books. So yeah, I'd recommend one of his short stories collections and Uzumaki.

Yeah, I would also recommend Uzumaki. It is a really good representation of his body of work. If you enjoy that, his short stories are fun reads. Glyceride and Blood Bubble Bushes are a couple that stick out in my mind.
I would recommend either of these videos as an apertief into Junji Ito

Read the short stories too!! Glyceride, Army of One & The Human Chair are some of my favourite short stories by him.

Enigma of Amigara fault still gives me nightmares, and I adore the horror genre. Glyceride is really uncomfortable and will make you want to take a shower. Army of One is also very good.

Uzumaki is a must, its his best long work. Tomie has some great stories but you can tell he was a younger artist and still finding his voice. My favorite short story collection is Fragments of Horror, but they're all good.

Uzumaki (spiral) is probably the best introduction to Ito, in that the conceit allows him to develop one-off imagery within the overarching framework of a town trapped in spirals of all shapes and interdimensional sizes.

After you've gotten used to the style and darker-than-gallows humor, I'd reccomend checking out Gyo. Best way I'd describe it is if you tried to make an anime about how Giger's biomechanoid civilization got itself off the ground.
