Dead island Missing 1 File
Any help would be nice. downloaded 4 times and still keeps missing 1 file. I don't even touch the computer while it downloads. Of Course there's no number to call or people returning my emails. just a blog-Forum to ♥♥♥♥♥ about this issue. If Steam and Dead Island can't figure out the problem I want my money back... Please don't tell me to go through regedit, the game should work fine with out tinkering with files I know nothing about...

From your library
right click on Dead Island Game and select properties
go to "Local files" and select "verify the cache files... if steam sees you miss one, it should auto-download it
i hope it helps

I've done that after each download and steam never tris to download that one file. when I try running from .exe it says I'm missing file " XAPOFX1_5.DLL "...

trying to look for a solution on google i've seen xapofx1_5.dll should be a direct x missing file.
try do download the latest direct x drivers....if so, look for "direct x download" and go to the microsoft download page (it should be the first link)

Thanks, don't know how I missed that. I figured it would tell me to download something if I needed it.

it's pretty hard at the beginning, cuz you have to learn everything about!
but if you like exploration / free roaming games, this will be awesome.
I may help you, but i'm level 50 :D

Same problem as Tiranno17, any ideas?
Dusty Jan 6, 2013 @ 12:55pm
have you followed the indication i wrote?
or try to uninstall all the directx drivers and reboot, and if windows doesn't install by itself (win7 users) do it by yourself and try again
Tiranno17 Jan 7, 2013 @ 1:30am
yes i followed your indiccations... but nothing...

well in this case
if you have winxp try to uninstall directx and install dx9 only, or go here http://www.dll-files.com/ and look for the dll file you're missing (unsafe, or at least i don't know if this works....getting dll files may be very dangerous)

I have Windows 7 64 Bit, but I'm going to try the same thing. I'm working on my 5th download and every time I go to validate my files it says that a file couldn't be validated and it was replaced, but when I validate again, it says the same thing. So, I uninstalled DirectX 11, going to try DirectX 9 (maybe it will work). If it doesn't, I'm going to reinstall DirectX 11 and see what that does... I even reinstalled Windows thinking maybe my computer had Gonhorrea or something, but it still does the same thing. When I launch, a big black square monster appears in the upper left corner of my screen and the opening music. I've been working on this for three days, now and I am determined to make this work. I'm getting angry. lol

I've already tried all of the monitor tweaks (video.scr fix, dual monitor fix, etc.)
