Wallet cheat/glitch ruined Dead Island for me!!!

I was about 76% through the main storyline on a strictly singleplayer game.

I decided to try out online coop with a new character for a bit. When I picked up a wallet, I levelled up from 35 > 46. That's when I realized another player spawned the wallet.

It totally ruined the game for me. Even when I quit and restart the game, my character levels back when I pick up any wallet ... even when I was using a _different_ character. How do I undo this?

I think this has something to do with the In-Game Challenges. They give ridiculous Amounts of XP.
You can check them somewhere in the Game, not sure where, it's been a while since i played the Game.
They work global, that's why it happens even when using another Character or a different Savegame.

Thanks for the reply. You're right, it has to do with the Undead Presidents level 4 challenge that rewards 1,000,000 XP. That's exactly the amount of excess XP I had on my character(s).

Any idea on how to reset this challenge? I think I didn't have more than level 2 completed. I tried the DISE with no luck.

30+ hours of legitimate playtime wasted, man.

what do you mean reset, you want to be able to complete it again? if you are using dise you can just change your level to whatever you want, don't forget to remove any extra skills you may have picked up.

Setting my character back to the original level would have no effect because I would gain the 1,000,000 XP as soon as I picked up any wallet, as a result of the Undead Presidents level 4 challenge. I had to use DISE to reset the challenges within the default profile. Either way, I got it resolved.

Thanks, I didn't know about the DISE. I too have picked up a wallet from another player, but my cash was stuck to 0$ afterwards. Even if I'd grab more money. So with the help of the Dead Island Save Editor, I reseted my money to 1$ and it worked. Thanks again!

I believe deleting the profile for the game, not the save game, will reset the challenges.
