Dead Island not finding players on my lan.
Hi guys, I hope someone can help me with this. I have legit version of dead island purchased from steam. I try to play with a friend on my home network by changing visibility to lan and going to lobby, but no players are found it keeps searching for players on same level, lower level and friends.

I am not new to setting up home networks nor to playing games over lan, I am experienced with my firewall and also with my router, so I have checked all the obvious (allowed through firewall, router, same subnet so on so on) My home network is fine and I can play many other games through my lan, share files, see and access the other pc's.

I am lost, there is nothing blocking this game..... I can play multiplayer over the internet fine but I really want to play this over my lan. Has anyone had a similar problem and resolved this? I'm probably overthinking this and it's something simple........ I'm so tiered, been at this all day, even changed the router's ip range from 10.0.0.1 / 10.0.0.138 to 192.168.100 / 192.168.1.199 and gateway respectively, even though the network/homegroup was fine. but I'm being thorough and trying every thing :)

ps I do know that the players need to be at same level or the player I'm trying to connect to needs to be the same or lower, and that I have to get past act 1. accessing the lobby is not a problem! finding my friend is :(

Go to Internet options and select Public Slots to 1 and Private Slots to 3. Hope that helps :D
