Dead Island

View Stats:
Cannot write in game folder. You don't have write permission. (ANY FIX?)
so i bought played then i close it normally then i try to play it again later and this window appear with this message so i try to administradors profile and permissions and i was about trying to open it as administrator but the option isn't aveilable any suggestions i want to play this game so much :S

You can give yourself permission to a folder by right-clicking the folder, click Properties, click the Security tab, click on the group you want to change, then Edit.

thnks for the advice but allready done that and didn0-t work and is weird cus the user i try using the game with is the administrator >c

Go in your Steam folder, steamapps folder, then the common folder. Find the game, right-click the .exe then run as admin. You can also make a shortcut to desktop if you have to do it everytime.

I'm sure there is sort of command you can put into steam when you launch said game, but I don't know it.

just try it and didn't work :c i enter in ... C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead Island and locate the "DeadIslandGame.Application" and right clic run has administrator and didnt work :l dont know what to do honestly :c thnks anyway enmity if i fix it i'll let you know :c

I KNOW I TRY AVERYTHING I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO :c should be a warning at purchase time that "ihis game have lots of errors in running :c or something " :c or they should give personal online assistance :c thnks btw :D

i had this problem before and i tried to run coj as administrator,and it worked.i think you shoult try run coj as administrator.if it not works,you did something wrong.so,try reinstalling the game or contact with developer or support.

I know this thread is kind of old, but I had this problem as well presumably because I was playing between a laptop and my desk top. I fixed it by simply finding the riptide folder in my documents folder and clicked the read-only option to disable it on the entire riptide folder from the properties of said folder. This fixed it and then after I launched the game it re enabled the read only status but it still worked.
