Dead island and dead island definitive coop

I bought this game long time ago and returned to it, My brother boght the definitive edition (only option to buy) and we cant play each other in coop.
theres a way to make it work with those 2 copies?

no i don't believe so, i just noticed today that Techland have pulled the original game of the store and replaced it with the definitive edition, blocking all those with the original game from getting any updates or bug fixes, and forcing everyone with the og to have to buy the definitive edition in order play the game with any friends that have bought the Definitive Edition,

It's annoying when companies delist their games... You'll have to buy a CD Key if you need a copy of a delisted game for Steam.
