2. 12Riven and another one NEVER were part of infinity series. That mess is one of the reason why company died.
3. Ever17 is only ranked that well because it was one of the dozen games that got translated in that era. In that age you could count total number of english patched vns with you fingers. Let alone any non porn vn.
Ever17 story is just empty and void of any characters or logic right untill last route. Rest is just busy work of tolerating yet another hetaro loser on his quest to one of 2 waifus.
Second protag was way better but they took any chance for him to do anything interesting. He only existed to reveal few good lore twists.
Compare that to quality product like Remember11 or even route double.
I mean, man. I enjoyed that game as well, but we're literally talking about the game where the devs forgot the True Ending for the game so it never got added to future versions. Not to mention that it ends on a cliffhanger? The game is literally infamous for not having an ending.
At least Ever17 was complete.
My problem with Uchikoshi's characters is that every one of them is a walking Wikipedia, a tool for the plot-twist to work. There is nothing wrong with having more knowledge than the average person, but they are able to explain everything in thorough details. It feels too unnatural.
KID died DURING the production of 12Riven, not afterwards; KID's death cannot be attributed to the commercial success of 12Riven or lack thereof. (They still managed to finish and release it due to publisher Cyberfront's support.)
