Anomaly Warzone Earth

Anomaly Warzone Earth

Linux, stalls after intro
The game starts, the intro runs, then that little thing on the bottom right just kees on spinning. What gives?

I have same problem.
Some times I get main menu, but in this case I have infinity load screen after run mission.

My system: Ubuntu 17.04 Mate, Nvidia GeForce GTX 660

That workaround only works for some distributions... to complete the workaround go to your AWE directory and rename AnomalyWarzoneEarth to just 'Anomaly' -- create a new executable script named AnomalyWarzoneEarth with the following contents:
#!/bin/bash dir="$(dirname $0)" cd "${dir}" export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32:~/.local/share/Steam/linux32:~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib:~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu:~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/lib/i386-linux-gnu export LD_PRELOAD=./LoadingFix.so ./Anomaly

This assumes that the LD_PRELOAD script has been complide with the name LoadingFix.so -- if you compiled it under another name simply replace that.

edit... the export statements should all be on one line. formatting on steam didn't work so well.

I also have infinite loading screen after intro under linux. Please fix.
Same, I bought this game on Linux and can't play it at all..I don't know if I can get a refund but I hope it gets fixed soon!

The game works installing game with Proton: Click the game - Properties - General - Click in force use of steamplay (or something like that) - selecta Proton (I use Proton 4.2.9) - install the game.
That may be true but the game shouldn't advertise native Linux support when it doesn't work on Linux natively. Otherwise any non-Linux game can claim Linux support when really it's just Proton doing the work.

The workaround above indeed works, but Linux users should not have to program things in order to play a game supported on their favorite OS.

Dear developers, is it possible for you to wrap the workaround in the distributed executable?
It didn't work for me but maybe I stuffed something up. I gave up and just refunded a while ago.

3 years later it still fails to run on Linux.

All the 5 games given away via newsletter subscription.
I knew it was a tower defence game with a twist, saw the Linux support on the Store page which is never a bad thing.

Unfortunately the game hangs after the intro :X
Debian Testing with an up-to-date kernel (5.6.11) and Mesa 20.0.6 (AMD R9 285)

Did try compiling the fix and preloading it but the game didn't start at all then!
libc6:i386 | 2.30-4 | i386

Running the Windows version with Proton but forcing the use of WineD3D did the trick.
With Proton 5.0.7, add this to the game's launch options:
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
With DXVK the picture is offset far to the right - mostly off the screen in fact. Plus it appears to freeze up needing to be killed in a terminal.

Looks like an interesting game - I wasn't quite sure what to expect really.
