Other than that, this game is a sequel of sorts to Din's Curse (rather than Zombasite), so it continues with the tradition of minimal town management and focusing more on 'saving a town'. You have more variety over time: in fact, you get random mutations (both good and bad) as you gain experience, and you can also choose to mutate (mix) with other classes, replacing some of the skills you haven't used. There are also different scenarios with different goals, such as destroying altars, eliminating a clan, or the good old solving all the quests in a dungeon.
It also doesn't have the apocalypse vibes of Zombasite: it's not as hard to survive in general, and you don't need to send your clan to gather potions or anything like that. The zombie apocalypse is in the past, and though zombasite infections can pop up (and zombies are still around), they're less common.
Same skills
marginally better graphics
gameplay still the same feels good though
the same annoying as help window
still no explanation of the world it self or whats going on not even in the slightest.
Also noticing tons of bugs and graphical glitches. texture tiles flickering and odd shadow glitches.
On a good note still the same fun back burner game to be played. Feels like soldak is more of an investment for something more one day. Which I am fine with. Since each game feels the same but marginally shinier each time.
> The mutations are neat however becomes nothing special since its such a common occurance and easy to do.
Well they're a big focus of the game, and add a lot of flavor. I agree that they happen too often. I tried to have them become more rare during the beta but some players got used to essentially using them like a character editor and lobbied for them not to be changed. There's an option to make them a little more rare when creating a character. Please voice your opinion more if you feel this way.

I haven't seen too many bugs, but some people have flickering tiles and shadows, while others don't. Not sure what causes it.

There is some exposition as the background to the game. Each game advances the story a little. Depths of Peril had the most story content, with in-game short stories about the world. I do think those could have been included here again since Depths of Peril is too old at this point for people to play.
To fund still launch zombiesite and by other means. I just dont feel these changes dont justify a complete seperate release. Or ♥♥♥♥ id donate.
soldak has great ideas and their games are fun. They are obviously talented i just know they can deliver more. or at least I want to believe so. Which is why I am so critical.
Sure there are incremental changes. I'm glad there's terrain height. But seriously it's an EXACT copy of the UI from Zombasite. Most of the skills and monsters are the same. The graphics are SLIGHTLY improved but the UI/fonts themselves are still godawful.
I loved Drox and enjoyed Zombasite, but at some point Soldak needs to do something new.
I've been hoping his next game would be Drox 2, but honestly I don't even see a point because it'd be so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ similar to Drox 1.
I know Soldak posted about Zombasite not selling as well as he hoped. When/if Din's Legacy similarly fails maybe that'll kick his butt into high gear and make him rethink using the same assets, mechanics, and UI since forever.
Frustrating when there's so much potential!
Agreed
A better feature I'd like to see would be:
While your fighting it out in one world your hearing about other clans in another location and whom might be winning as you know youll be facing that Orc and Goblin alliance seems be dominating another area only to face u in a upcoming map... That would be a great addition to this game sorta like NFL Highlights you hear about other fights from clans in other locations aside from your world location. To me that would be taking this game to the next level. I like seeing stats of how other clans are doing vs you and in other locations where they can bring their champions to new locations that have been doing well. Also enemy Heroes should not drop just random loot but they should be trying to equip useful items like your hero does and will make unique item drops if u kill them well I guess they sorta do that already as they find better items lol but then again they still seem to drop random loot when they shouldn't it should be the good stuff they where using if they don't drop it already.
