Hi!
I'm sorry to hear you encounter such issues with the new update. We're continuously working on fixes for such problems. It would help a lot if you could provide us a savegame in which those issues occur, so we can have a closer look. Sending it to support@chasing-carrots.com with a short comment refering to this thread should suffice.
Also, are you playing the campaign or the freeplay mode?
Regards
Paul
We've found out that moving inventories between workzones confuses logistics employees so they tend to ignore certain connections from and to those moved inventories. There will be a patch soon, fixing this issue.
It happened in both campaign and freeplay, though it didn't happen until the third main mission in the campaign. It wasn't bad in that one, but in the fourth, it was very bad.
Restarting the client seemed to fix it for about five minutes, but further restarts didn't do much.
Apologies for being a little snippy about it. Was frustrated when I wrote that on top of already having a not-great day.
No worries, I'm here to help :)
You can find the savegames in Steam's installation folder:
You could try out if the issues are still present with the recent update we've pushed (version 0.7.1, like 30 minute ago).
Hope your day gets better!
Changing one large workzone with machinery in it into two is also a pain as you have to move every machine to get the old workzone marking out from under the machines.
Literally killed the conveyor campaign mission in one update.
I really like Good Company, but this should not be on public build if it literally cannot work with a mechanic.
Those that buy early access games are essentially there to help the developers debug the game, if you do not wish to be a part of this then don't buy an early access game.
I've put in 4-5 hours and i've gotten so frustrated trying to figure out how Logistics work that i gave up.
I only casually thought that maybe, just maybe, it was a bug and went to the forums here to find out that yes. The game's core method for playing the game is functionally broken due to a bug.
Fix your game, You're gonna get bad reviews from people who get frustrated and give up after the return window has closed.
I agree with Traslogan, but i'm quite happy with the new logistics zones, it saves a lot of time. It might be an idea to rename the courier routes to transport routes and there make a user switch between couriers and conveyors.
If you can also use special conveyor machinery like an "automatic retrieval segment" to connect your courier pallets...great!
Totally agree. I bought on summer sale and its got a bad review from me. Aint going to change till they fix it.
The biggest issue for me atm was some campaign missions. E.g. the one about cleaner bots at the old bakery. 2 of its 4 buildings are useless due to the new system, since they contain no delivery areas so we can't even setup a route between them, and 1 has no conveyor belt access whilst the other literally has just 1.
Unless I've missed it, I think having the ability to toggle it off by default would be help enough for those of us who know the original system well enough. For newer users who want it automated, I think it's better to wait a few weeks.
