Sonora rear mounted turret options?
I'm looking for advice on what to mount at the rear turret of the Sonora. In the original RG you could configure your weapons to attack different targets so that while you were wearing down an opponent in front of you the rear turret could be used against any enemies behind you to keep them at bay. Can a similar thing be done with the rear turret of the Sonora?

No options in RGO, turrets are fully automated.

Thanks. So when you say fully automated should they fire automatically at any enemy that comes in range, even at the rear of the ship? I haven't noticed that the mass driver that I have mounted is doing that. I'm dogfighting in 3rd person so I actually see the turret there but haven't noticed it firing on anything. Have you seen rear turrets firing on enemies and if so which rear turret do you use? With the mining turret that I have mounted on the top of the Sonora it only seems to fire when I hit the fire button. Am I supposed to lock on to a target before all turrets will automatically fire? Right now I'm using the RMB to use auto-pursuit in fights but the mining turret only fires when I click the LMB. I haven't used the key to "lock target" key at all.

I have not tried the mass driver, but the laser turret defintely works.
Yes, turrets shoots automatically at enemies if you are in the main cockpit, within the maximum range and firing arc, no input is inecessary. The Sonora turret is at the back of the ship and thus will not fire forward.

As you usually keep high speeds during actual fighting, the biggest limit in usability of the turrets is their range. The higher the range the ealier the turret will react to possible targets.

Basic Rule:
- If you want the turret to actually shoot at Enemies, take the longest Range available and a weapon that can both penetrate Shields and Hull.
- If you want an active AMS (Anti-Missile-System), pick the shortest range available, so the Turret ignores everything far away and goes right for stuff getting very close to you (mostly missiles).

Unfortunately there are no options to give a turret a target priority or something.
