Alpha Turrets Not working
Is it just me or do The Turrets in the game not work. I can't see anywhere that this thing is actually working. What am I doing wrong...Can someone please explain.

Well, I'm in a Durstan(sp?), the really big ugly freighter you can get anywhere, it has an alpha and beta (rear) turret, most of the time I see the alpha fire on a target by itself, and I have a different gun (non energy) on the back. I usually see the front one fire, but not all the time, but I do hear it firing. I hear the back one fire by the different sound the gun makes.

Its possible you see the alpha fire, but mistake it for enemy shots coming from behind. I don't think there is a "disable turret" option you could have hit by mistake.....I assume you have actually mounted the turrets, that could do it.....other than that IDK....sorry.

I was not able to finish the mission "EMP six police ships".

The mission always failed because my two turrets destroyed the police ships too fast. :steamlaughcry:

There is no option to disable or remove turrets. I had to buy another ship without turret slots to beat the mission. :steamdeadpan:

So yes, turrets working.

okay well i figured it out I have to look in the back of the ship and i can manually shoot the targets. I didn't really want this. I was hoping they would shoot automatically.

BTW I'm Playing this game with my valve index in VR with HOTAS support and Voice attack commands witch I wrote and the game is sooooo much better. Way more enjoyable.

the turret would automatically shoot hostiles, but each turret has limited targeting angle coverage

The Turrets DO shoot automatically. If you ONLY have an Alpha Turret, then you are flying the Sonora or the Foxbat (SPZ and Durston have 2, the Beluga has 3). The Foxbat has a forward facing turret mounted underneath, super obvious when it works. However the Sonora turret is both REAR mounted and REAR facing, and thus it will only fire when you have someone on your tail.

So yes, turrets working.

You can remove=uninstall them. Press Combat (or any type you have) Turret (installed) and then choose Remove. You can reinstall it later for free.
My turret also disappears.

The alpha turret (ship Sonora) is not selectable sometimes. It is equipped with a mass driver.

Sometimes it fires automatically at enemies behind me, but often it doesn't. And the turret disappears from my selection wheel, mostly during fights. In general it reappears after entering a station (I thought maybe it was destroyed, althought my ship status shows that it is operative), but now I've got the situation that I exited a station fully repaired and refilled, and the turret icon is not in the wheel anymore.
