windows Defender is Blocking Vagrus

windows Defender is quarantining Vagrus.exe and listing it as a threat.

I suggest you download Microsoft's Browser Edge and then click on the Copilot icon in the top right hand corner. Copilot does a very good job of telling you how to navigate through settings in all Microsoft programs.

Here's what copilot says about Window's Defender's program blocking.

Potentially Unwanted Applications (PUA) Blocking – Windows Defender Antivirus can detect and block applications that might negatively impact your system, such as adware or software that evades detection.

Firewall Rules – You can manually block programs from accessing the internet using Windows Defender Firewall. This involves creating outbound or inbound rules to restrict a program’s network activity.

Application Control Policies – Windows Defender Application Control allows administrators to define which applications can run on a device, preventing unauthorized programs from executing."

I suggest you investigate this further on your own as I run Windows Defender and another antivirus program and have no issues running the game.

Windows Defender immediately quarantined the vagrus.exe after the last update. Steam new the file was removed and immediately download the file again and defender quarantined the file over and over. I had to create a defender AV exception to stop defender from removing the vagrus.exe.
