How do you raise prowess?

I can't find where to raise prowess. I don't see it on the companion screen with attributes, combat skills & traits, professions, etc. What am I missing?

I recall reading you have to do the companion quest.

Edit: Check your journal for companion quest since I am not sure who you acquired.

I have Finndurarth, Renkailon and Gor'Goro so far. I've done the Gor'goro and started Finndurarth but I don't seem to have a quest for the dark elf. Do you I have to do the quests for each companion I have?

Each companion progresses Prowess individually as their story continues. Usually talking to them at camp provides clues as to what they need if the journal doesn't lay it out.

Finn's and Gor's quest basicly start when you meet them. For Renki you need to be a bit patient and move to another town too. (It is the big town north and slightly to the west, forgot the name:D)

Along the way if you stay on the road, you can also get another companion and her quest line;)
