Harveks questline question (Spoilers)
So I got to the part where I attack the guys villa and Harvek confronts the guy. There is an loyalty option to try to talk to harvek, but he still ends up killing the guy and now wants to go find his son. Is there a way to stop him from killing the guy with high enough loyalty? Or does that happen regardless?

Interesting. I encouraged him to kill him, but I always assumed that you could talk him out of it.

I thought that option required certain stats to be high enough - unless that was another option. In which case I'd choose that one instead of the loyalty one (if it exists).

I would have thought your loyalty would be pretty high at this point though, since by doing his questline up to this point, that alone should have him think pretty highly of you? I found I hit max loyalty with Harvek before even finishing the first quest of his (taking out his enemies) - I gave him some weed occasionally, but near the end of that first quest I found I never had to give him anything ever again.

So when I did that part I was at Friendly with Harvek which is the second highest loyalty. Also, there weren't any other options when confronting the guy, just the option to talk with the loyalty check. Maybe he doesn't kill him if your loyalty is too low instead of of high?

You can talk him out of it, iirc. Can't remember what exactly you need to do tho, it maybe that you might have needed to pick a certain talking point before you even visit the villa.

It's possible that second-highest isn't high enough - that would be my guess. Or what Darion said, possibly requiring a specific talking point prior to entering the villa? Though I can't recall what that would be, didn't think we had many options apart from choosing an approach...

You do in fact need the highest loyalty level (Amicable).

I see, guess I'll try for Amicable on my next playthrough

I had amicable. And I encouraged him to kill him. Does any one know what happens if he lives?

Can't say, since I've never actually finished his questline. I'm guessing it is just for flavor though, since his last quest doesn't seem to have much in the way of choices. However, if it ends up being like Criftaas quest then it might have him end up a little nicer than he was before.

At the end, the kid hates Harvek since he has killed his foster-father. I hazard a guess that if he's alive, the story does not end as miserably.
