A few questions about the game.
I just got the game and I got a few questions:

- Is the game playable without any sounds? I feel weird listening to narrations while reading my books so I am curious if I will be missing a lot if I decide to play it without voices or even without sounds?

- I saw the game being listed as an RPG sandbox by a video and I was wondering what exactly should I expect from the game? I know the straightforward answer is to just dive in and see for myself but if some people who are more experienced with the game can give me some answers, it helps a lot since I usually try and form an idea of the plot or world I am getting into when it comes to the books I am reading.

- Is the game stat heavy? What I mean by this is if I would be spending a lot of time min-maxing builds like how DnD and Pathfinder games are with class creations and whatnot?

- In relation to the question above, is the game more roleplaying (i.e focus more on your choices and stories) or reliant on managing stats, min-maxing builds, etc?

- Are the stories in the game something like King of Dragon Pass where based on my understanding there are x amount of scenarios crafted and a single playthrough differs from another playthrough based on the combinations of those scenarios?

- Will it be ok if I purchase the season pass later? Is the currently out expansion a separate area or campaign or does it add more to the base game areas/campaign?

- Lastly, if there are any, what are the fantasy books or book series that influence the game? For some reason I get a Malazan: Book of The Fallen vibe from reading the store page with its brutal world and having an empire and whatnot.

Edit: One more question, is the game focused more on one mistake it is game over and you have to restart everything or is the game more of if you encounter bad things, you can just roll with it and it is part of the roleplaying in the game?

- I didn't try. Probably in the option menu.

- You're a vagrus, which is the head of a caravan. The action is set in a post-apocalyptic world with Ancient Rome settings. You choose an ambition to set your victory condition: freeplay (for total sandbox), wealth, renown (through exploration and quest) or knowledge (you have a codex to fill by gathering intel, and a endgame dungeon to unlock and explore to gather knowledge from the past). You do things as you wish, but you still need to manage your caravan, which can be tricky at the beginning of your first playthrough.

- Not that much. Your personal stats unlock some possibilities but you can manage without it. Your companion stats help too, but for many you can just focus on their combat stats. Most of the game can be done with them staying at low level, but if you engage in their questline, you should pay attention to skills you unlock. It won't be about attributes, but mostly skills and perks that enhance accuracy, vitality,...
It's far less demanding in term of min-max than many turn-based games. The challenging part is your comitatus management and some late fights.

- More roleplaying although it's far from a Disco Elysium or a Age of decadence even though choices matter. It's quite atypic.

- King of the dragon pass offers a lot more replayability in term of crafting your own story. But, if you're into roleplay runs and don't want to achieve all quests in a single playthrough, you can have different experiences.

- It's a whole but you can decide to buy it later. The base game is far from enough. Like Battle Brother you don't need the expansion, but it adds nicely.

- I'll let the dev' speak, they built the game based on their tabletop game.

- Save the game, there's no iron man. Saving is there to allow you to explore to see if you'll run into trouble or not. Some events are random so you might want to reload (there's an autosave everyday). No ironman.
There're some game over choices, but as I said, you can reload.

What voices?

When I'm no longer on mobile maybe I'll answer the rest if anything wasn't covered by the previous reply.
