So after not playing for a good log while...how many times do I need to purchase the AUTHORITY perk to get to max 6 OR is there a way to get 7th or 8th slot?

The max is still 6 and there's just a single +1 available from House Venari, so you only need to purchase it up to 5.

Ty kindly...
Maybe while I have your undivided attention....can I get MAX on stats like workforce from Engineerring and con etc etc from my compaion's OR do i actually have to put insight into those perks..thanks!

there is no "max" on workforce and you want to put points into those on your Vagrus anyway for things like the Noonday Reader (well, maybe not Con but definitely Engineering).

Sweet thanks again..lol soo many perks and leadership traits and even the attributes...kinda hard to know where to MIN/MAX ...read a bunch of posts and watched some youtubes but even those are all overt the place...

The game has tons of Insight to go around, especially with the new DLC. The only place where min-maxing is a concern is on your companions, since they do actually have a limited amount of proficiency points, while Insight is effectively unlimited.

Hold up I am looking at the House Venari rewards table now....it says at level 2 get a +1 to Authority...but also at level 5 if you hover over Aristocrats's Dominion it says you get +1 Authority also...plus a few +1 to perks....seems like you can get a +2 to authority from this house....is this a bug?

You can't, it's just the update of the previous one. Look other houses, they have similar bonuses that increase with your reputation. It's not adding.

As Jean-Maurice said, it's the same +1. The later effect is an upgraded version of the first and replaces it, just like happens with all the other factions. It used to be that the highest tier of Venari reputation gave a +2 to Authority, but this was never worth waiting for and thus just a wasted bonus. They changed it some time ago to give bonuses to a few professions at the top level instead.

Ok .....honestly IMO should have just removed it in it's description to keep it from becoming confusing...just saying :)

That would be even more confusing because it replaces the earlier effect on the Status Effects pane.

Thanks for mentioning this, I actually thought Venari still had the additional +1 (so +2) at top level.

Actually glad this is changed, but they really could have indicated this better - it definitely looks like you get an additional +1 as opposed to it just "replacing" the other one.

Actually why do they even have it replacing the other one? It would make much more sense if they just didn't mention the +1 at all and instead just mentioned the other bonuses you get, and had the two skills coexist instead of one replacing the other. Would be MUCH less confusing.

IMO they shouldn't have replaced it then, and just added a different (additional) status. This is definitely not very clear the way it's presented right now...

Well, maybe not cristal clear but as you progress with one house you can see that the previous version of a bonus is to be "reclaimed", meaning the bonus doesn't apply anymore. I think it's understable enough.
Wlerin Nov 15, 2023 @ 1:45am
In this specific instance because the bonuses added by the upgrade have nothing to do with the original, it would make sense to keep them separate. In most cases though the upgrade just increases the earlier bonuses, and it would lead to unnecessary and confusing clutter to have them both active.
