Companion issue Gor'Goro

First time I played I had no issue getting his quest started. Im now on day 600+ and no quest for him have popped up. He remains neutral always. I have no slaves, I won all the arenas I came into contact with. I give him oil and weapons ever time It pops up. Any help would be great. I have all the other characters and am progressing in each of their quest and he's still lv 3. He was the first character I got

I believe you need to get him to at least Congenial. Dunno why oiling him up at every opportunity isn't working to that end.

I think you have to talk to him about his past & then get him to let you talk about arena victories to start the personal quest (not sure what loyalty level this requires). It's not a random "pop up" like the others

Ive given him exquisite weapons and am having a MasterCrafted weapon made for him now. I also saw that the option to fire him was greyed out so I assume I'm doing something wrong. I'll keep trying.

You can't fire companions outside of town.

That said, as OTresearcher says, you also need to talk to him after raising his loyalty to congenial in order to start his quest. iirc a new option appears under talk to him about his past.

That's the second step, the first is getting him to open up at all about his past (although you can do the arenas first of course, and just talk to him about them later).

Thanks. it only too 700 days but he finally liked me. Now he wants me to compete in arenas and win, which i am and already have done and he says he will talk with me later but when i choose the option to discuss victories its blank. oh well at least i got this far

Update: I went ahead and fought/ won at all the arenas again. The ones I had already beat prior getting Gor'Goros first quest Arena Champion would not allow me to discuss the victory with him (during rest, the chat option once clicked was blank). But Deven (the only arena I had ignored), once beaten, had a option to talk to him. While this still did not complete the quest it may point to an issue with Gor'Goros quest line.

So you actually need to become the "Arena Champion" at each location to be able to talk to him about it, just winning at the arena won't be enough. You'll have to fight at most arenas a few times before unlocking a championship fight (ie. Maldarian's challenge at Tor'Zag's Shelter). As you noted, Deven's arena is an exception but that one takes 3 full days in the first place so it makes sense you don't have to repeat it.

I don't think you need to be Arena Champion at all the gladiator circuits - just most of them (3 or 4 out of the 5?).

Cool, didn't know I needed to keep playing the same arena multiple times for the championship to come about. Huge help thanks
