Increasing Movement

How do I increase my initial movement from 8 I'm sure I got to 13 in a previous game but can't remember how?

Equipping comitatus with reinforced wheels and appointing a companion (I think Renkailon is the appropriate one) as Scout Master deputy will both give +1 to movement. Also high Morale and high Vigor provide movement bonuses as well. And of course on beasts screen you can swap beasts from mammal to reptile. Reptile has more movement points, mammal has more marching points as far as I know but reptiles consume more supplies.

I have unused insight is there anything I can do with it to increase movement I've read all the "perk" descriptions but its not clear what the actual game mechanic implications are for improving them?

Insight can be used on your perks or to strengthen your companions as well as increase resourcefulness and authority values. Most perks generally increase chance to succeed with their related field. Normally one of the resourcefulness abilities should use resourcefulness to provide bonus movement point on the campaign map but that is not implemented yet.

For example, increasing Navigation perk will provide better chance for scouts to succeed. Improving Persuasion will give you a better chance whenever that pops up in a story event.

The third type of mount (the one that needs unlocking with a quest chain has better movement than the two starting ones when it comes to beast of burden and especially when marching.
I am at 12/12 (10/10 march). But most importantly the Insectoids eat quite a bit less.

Dwarven compass +1 move is the other one.

It's rare and if I remember randomly appears with a shopkeeper - maybe the Oghre in Sun Rock? Expensive, but if you see it, get it.

You can also train Criftaa as scout master for the +1 move, but it's a bit of a waste when Renkailon is available and can do it.
