How to play co-op?

How many players can play in a multiplayer match (pvp, coop)?

I've never seen anything resembling coop and believe this game to be solo or 1v1 online

That's a shame, because the Welcomes post by the Devs specifically mentioned co-op:

When the game launches, or we have a playtest running we highly recommend you checking out the Touch Type Tale Discord[discord.gg] or popping a steam discussion post out looking for a group.

You can head on over to our Discord[discord.gg] where we have a feedback channel, you can also let us know if you run into any bugs here too.
