Stuck - Need a Chapter 2 hint...

I've reached the stage where I've got a martini and an eyeball on the TV screen. I also need something to unlock the box inside the present in the Past Mind.

My instincts tell me that the eyeball is the next puzzle - it looks to the left or the right (randomly?) when I click on the TV, but I haven't figured out the significance. I've tried sequentially clicking the side of the TV that the eyeball looks towards and I've tried clicking the opposite side.

I'd appreciate a hint from someone who has passed this stage. :)
