CPU temp missing after 9800x3d install
I uninstalled/reinstalled many times. I verified the files. My other apps and AIO are reporting CPU temp as usual. The overlay showed CPU temp every day for a year until today when I swapped from a 7800x3d to a 9800x3d. I did do some mild overclocking in MSI Afterburner and AMD Ryzen Master if that matters. Log zip file emailed as requested. Thank you for your help!

After fpsVR updates and you launch the application or Steam starts it along with the launch of SteamVR, Steam will likely request elevated permissions to update the CPU polling service. You need to agree to this. After the files are copied (you probably won't even notice because only 3 files are being replaced), fpsVR should launch.
Let me know if anything changes.

At first, I thought this was my post and the wrong name had gotten put on it somehow.

So it's interesting that you're having the same issue after also upgrading from 7800 to 9800.

I'm going to be doing a system reinstall anyway, so I'll report back here if that makes any difference.

Well I'm glad it isn't just me, but i'm sorry to hear you're having the same problem also. Hopefully the developer chimes in with a solution because I'm overclocking and really need to see the temperatures when I'm running really intense instances in VR chat with 80 avatars

I just did a complete reinstall and the problem still persists.

Looks like fpsVR needs an update to support reading temps from the 9800s.

I will release a trial update soon. You will need to switch to a separate branch, the name of which I will provide separately. Please wait.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Please stay on this branch. As soon as I release the final update, I will delete this branch and you will automatically switch to the public branch.

Thank you! I will try it in just an hour or so. Do I delete and re-download the software now, or is there an update method somewhere? I’m not sure where to select the beta.

Never mind, it was easy to find lol, and my temperature is working, thank you so much for the quick fix!
